Hi All,
I have an XK01 that was draining the battery when hooked up in D2D, causing massive issues with the charging system, and did not function at all when hooked up in W2W.
Tonight I disconnected and reconnected the bypass. In the 15 minutes that it took to do this the vehicle's voltmeter showed that the vehicle had only 10 volts remaining. After everything was hooked back up I started the truck and the voltmeter was jumping between 10 and 15 volts; this caused the speakers to crackle and pop and the lights to flicker brightly.
I tried to reset the module, and could not get it to acknowledge the unlock command to reset. I also could not change the vehicle type selection.
I had finally had it and pulled the module and tucked the rest of the system back up under the dash. I started the truck to let it idle and charge for a few minutes. Immediately I noticed that the voltmeter was no longer fluctuating. The gauge went to 14 and remained there. After a few minutes of charging, I shut the truck down and checked the voltage via the gauge; it now said 12.5.
So, I would imagine that I do indeed have a defective module. Has anyone else seen similar circumstances? I would like to replace it, and would like to replace it quickly. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good and timely replacement?
Thanks

by chance did you have the data wire connected  securely?  I've seen some weird things happen when there is a faulty connection with the vehicles data wire by not soldering the connection.

Nope.  It's soldered and shrink wrapped.  I'm pretty anal about my wiring.

However, I figured out why the XK01 has caused so many problems on this particular platform.  I had to hook up my scan tool and actually look at the what the PCM was seeing to believe it.  So, if you have an XK01 giving you fits, just hook up your VERUS and take a look...

The XK01 is working fine now.
