Hey there folks thanks for all the help over the last two weeks really!

I attempted to install a remote start in a 2002 explorer v8, and it did not work, I ended up bringing it to the installer who I paid 250 bucks to install it.

Turns out the Xpresskit pkford XK04 was not functional. Installer needed to use another bypass. Both I and the installer tried to make the Xpresskit work, but it didn't it probably needed some firmware update that I don't have the ability to do, and he didn't use Xpresskit he uses I-data.

Moral of the story is, I tried for 2 days to make it work, but without having another part to "try" I was in a troubleshooting loop, going nowhere!

Beware the extreme do - it - yourselfer, this one can leave you scratching your head at 2 am in the morning.....

Maybe the hot glued chip to ignition or a universal bypass would have been easier...Next time...!

problem should have been easy to troubleshoot... did you first test your install with a key slid into the IGN? this is a basic step in any install with transponder bypass.... test the install before you move on to the transponder portion of the job.....
