Ok....so I've tried nearly everything I can think of (replaced brain/ant/remotes, power to batter, ground to battery, etc...) to resolve the range issues for the autostart I installed in a 2006 Ford Five Hundred.
The model of autostart installed is Ultrastart Model 3295XR-Pro. I've done numerous other installs from this manufacturer, and all have amazing range (3500+ feet regularly and many reports of a mile plus). This one however is getting about 50' maximum. The customer works in a bank, so I initially thought it was interference there then we tried it in an open field environment...still crappy range.
This is really the first vehicle I've had range issues on with this brand of starter. Like I said already, I tried swapping out all of the components of the autostart, including using different models in their lineup (3285, 3280) just to see if it was something funky with the frequency band and that vehicle. So far, no luck at all.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Chuck

Crap, I probably posted this in the wrong section (I'm guessing it should have gone into car security & convenience). I feel like such a n00b. Sorry about that everyone.

Alright, just to update this. I ended up trying "one last time" per customer request to put in another 3295 Brain from Ultrastart....wouldn't you know the darn thing works now! Get's like 3/4 mile range in town. IDK if there is/was some stray frequency in that vehicle that was hosing things up or what, but the 5th time was a charm (again...tried 3280, 3285, (2) 3295's all with no success...the 3rd 3295 worked great)
I need beer now.
