I am having problems adding a 530t window module to a Viper 5901 alarm. I think I have hooked up everything correctly but when I activate Aux Channel 1 on the remote, nothing happens. One touch works and the windows roll up when the alarm is armed. I think there is a programming issure with Aux Ch. 1.

Here is how I have the 530t connected to the 5901:

  • Orange GWA to Orange GWA on the 5901
  • RED / White Aux Input to WHITE/ Violet Aux 1 Output on the 5901
  • Red to a constant 12v wire in the ignition harness.
  • Black to ground.

I have a Bitwriter and right now the settings for Aux 1 are:

  • Aux Icon Type: Window
  • Aux 1 Output Type: Validity
  • Aux 1 Linking: No Linking
  • 30 Seconds

What have I done wrong? Unfortunately my multimeter was missing today so I am not able to test wires until tomorrow. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Andy

how are you activating aux 1, you have to press function and then aux

what kind of vehicle is this, do you have the dip switches set appropriately

why do you have it set on validity and for 30 secs, set it to latch and time how long it takes your window to roll down and then set the time accordingly, maybe 4 or 5 seconds

Thank you for your reply. I changed the settings with the Bitwriter and Aux1 works now.

Question: I am not getting any output from the h1/1 RED / white trunk release wire. I thought that I could connect the the 530t to the trunk wire instead of Aux 1. This way I could press and hold the Aux button to roll down the windows. I didnt see any settings for this wire on my bitwriter.

Thanks,
Andy

you need to have this connected to aux 1 or 2 or 3 and so on, you can't use the trunk release output from the brain, the trunk release output is only a momentary pulse so it won't stay latched

Thanks,
Andy
