Hi I have an 2001 Crown Vic ex police car and had a Viper 5901 installed by the dealer. The dealer did not install the trunk release (the form here helped me find the correct wire and the wiring for the relay) and the defrost. I live in Canada and would like the defrost to work. Can someone help me with the wire color and its location and if a relay is need? Also if the wire needs to be cut?

Thanks in advance

TRNK/HTCH RELEASE|purple / YELLOW       |5wi|drivers door harness

Says five wire so you need a single pole double throw relay wired like this

Pin87 and 86- twelve volts fused at ten amps

Pin 85-  To the negative trigger from alarm

Pin 87@ - Cut the purple / YELLOW and connect the side from the switch here

Pin 30 - To the side of the wire that goes to the solenoid.

That works perfect. Do you know how to do the defrost?

What do you mean how? I just described it above, the negative trigger is the blue/white status out from the starter!

I think he is asking for a wire color for the defrost wire.
