01 excursion, rear gate lock

I installed a cheap remote start in a 2001 Excursion for a customer the week. It worked fine at the time. He called today and said that the lock/unlock doesn't work on his rear gate. I used the wire listed on direct techs and tested them with the lock/unlock button. They work on all the other doors. Am I missing something or ? Thanks.

Does the switch on the door work the lock/unlock on the rear gate? Being an 01 it's very possible that the actuator is just bad.Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

i ran into the same issue with the same truck about a year ago and if you take the panel off the rear you could actually see the lock trying to work it was just froze. i got it broke free and lubed up and it was working pretty decent. then the customer finally admitted he just got the truck and didnt know if it worked before or not. i told him to get a new actuator for it.
