I am trying to figure out why the parking lights in this lesabre will not shutoff. There was an alarm and remote start prior to me working on it. If I am correct this vehicle has the dimm module and you have to add a diode inline when hooking up the parking lights, well there wasn't one there. I changed the dimm module and it still has the same problem. All fuses are good relay is good. By the way the alarm is no longer hooked up. Please any ideas would help I am working on it in the morning. I feel that the alarm being hooked up with out that diode damaged something. The parking light output was hooked up to the brown with white at the switch(i think).

Will the parking lights turn off after you open a door? If so you can use the ground when armed output and send it the driver door trigger to simulate this.

No the lights won't turn off at all so it drains the battery.

I was thinking of completly bypassing by adding a switch and a relay but I would need the diagram for a relay to go from 12volts to strong 12 volts

that BROWN / white wire is negative parking lights you dont have to use a diode or anything. if the alarm was setup for negative parking light output it should have been fine. i would check that wire and make sure its not grounded anywhere. ive seen a gm truck parking lights stay on from when the installer put the underdash back in he pinched the parking light wire which grounded it out thus making the car think they were turned on. then test that wire and see if its showing ground.

You obviously disconnected the parking light wire...? I think (as stated) that the BROWN / white is a negative trigger...Is that how you have it set-up...? Maybe im off here...But is there 2 BROWN / whites at the switch...? You say the alarm is no longer connected...Is the remote start still connected...?

ok the brown with white is still connected to the car. there is only one brown with white at the switch.  and the alarm and remote start is no longer connected. but i think i figuredit out. when we replaced the dimm module it was never reset. This is what i did and it worked dont ask me how lol. At the parking light in the driver rear i put ground staright to it (purple wire)and it shut off. Now i tried this prior, at switch and the module and it didnt work, after doing it at the parking light it now woks perfect. can anybopdy shed some light on what i did lol.
