vacuum switch on carb

I have a 84 Buick Regal with a carbureted engine so I bought a vacuum switch from Alarmtek to get the remote start on my Scytek Galaxy 5100 alarm working but, it came with no installation instructions & the alarm's manual is of no use also. So, I browsed round the internet for a few days now trying to figure out how to connect this switch to the alarm to no avail. Which brings me to asking you guys here. Do I connect the switch to the ignition input, the tach sense wire or where? The vacuum switch has 2 connections on it so it's a make or break switch on the wire connected to it leading me to think it should be connected to like the ignition wire. Thanks for the help in the past & hopefully the help on this subject also.

What is the purpose of the vacuum switch?  Are you planning to use it to tell the remote start that the car is running?

Yes, that's what the purpose of it is.

it has one but I was told when I bought the alarm(from alarmtek) that I needed to get a vacuum switch also since the car is carbureted. I was thinking of not bothering to install the vacuum switch & just using the tach sense only but since I got the switch it'd be nice to use it also if possible.

I have no idea why they would suggest a vacuum switch.  I just do not see what they are wantiing you to do with it.  I could see them suggesting a solenoid to pump the throttle before startup.  I do not suggest doing this.  It could turn dangerous.  Does the car start without you pumping the pedal?

I have heard about doing the solenoid thing also which can done perfectly safe if done right. The car isn't operational right now. but when it was yes it did. It's been bout 3 years that the car sat, it was in a wreck shortly after I bought the alarm & before I could install it. Now that I have time & money to work on it I'm getting the alarm installed. I don't plan on using the solenoid trick unless I see the remote start as a something I Really want to have if the car won't remote start under 'normal' conditions.

ONLY Feed the tach from the recommended position. On a cold winter's morning you Will need a solenoid. I don't advise and I wouldn't touch it.
