2010 vw gol security / doorlocks

Hello guys and gals, I was oundering if any of you have worked or have access to security info for a 2010 volkswagen gol. Its not a golf. the vehicle is produces for the Mexican and Asian maerket. As far as I can see it has no doorlock button, but removing the door panel it does seem to have accuators. A three wire system with one 12 volt +, a ground, and a low volt wire that turns (+) with the key lock but no change with unlock. If any one can help me out I would greatly appriciate it, Thank you.There is no replacement for displacement, until you add a blowdryer.

I don't have direct info on that vehicle but it sounds like it's just a "follow me" type system. Do all the doors lock/unlock when you physically lock/unlock the doors(by hand)? If so, you'll have to install a single doorlock actuator in the driver's door. Hope this helps. MikeMike

Yeah i kinda figured i would have to do the follow me system. By manually locking and unlocking there is no change. By manually lock and unlock with the key one wire changes polarity, but doesn't tap into the door accuators. I really appriciate the help though. When i get any info on this car ill post it just in case someone else runs into this car.There is no replacement for displacement, until you add a blowdryer.

Methinks there's a resistive multiplex wire in there. The European Polo and transporter both use a blue white, ground to lock, 1k to unlock although the latest Polo uses I believe a brown yellow with wait for it, a 172ohm resistor on the unlock. FYI Golfs are built in Germany, the US, Mexico and China. Parts come from Seat (Spain) and Skoda (Czech Republic). And guess what...they all have slightly different specs.

OK, try this. With the door catch thrown over join your DMM to the brown wire then other lead to ground. With key in door lock the car, it should go from infinity to say 2-3 ohms on locking and about 170ohms on unlock. If that's so that's the lock control or lock trigger wire. Plan B But I didn't tell you this. Take a Snap on incandescent bulb test light attach the clip to ground and the probe end to the wire. It should lock the car, then open the wire, this time , again set to ohms place your DMM in line with that wire, that will give you the resistance value. OK, add Brasil, also Russia!

They sure do have it in Brazil as well. I've been to Brazil 3 times, and the Gol is the only of the "popular" cars (1.0 liter) I haven't rented yet. I've already driven the Chevrolet Celta, Corsa, Astra, and Fiat Palio. http://www.volkswagen.com/br/pt/modelos/novo_gol.html Quite a difference to step out of a 4.6 liter Deville and into a 1.0 liter Palio! Anyway, I was just rambling, no idea about the wiring on the car. but, what I usually do to see if the car has four actuators or only three (the follow-me system), is quite simple: 1. If you lock or unlock the driver's door either by hand or by key, and the three passenger doors follow, then you know you have at least three actuators in the car. 2. Next, try doing the same from the passenger's door, and see if the driver's and other two passenger doors also follow. If they do, you have four actuators for sure. If only the passenger door moves, there's probably no actuator in the driver's door.

Sorry Chris I forgot you go to Brazil quite often. I just want to make a point that VW have used multipoint locking (we call the follow me system single point here, it simply means the manufacturer is saving a few £ on the car) since the Mklll Golfs in 93. Having said that, up to 2000, Japanese Mitsubishi Pajeros had single point locking but the UK spec. Shoguns (a.k.a. Montero in the US) had multipoint. It's also down to local laws and custom, every car sold in Israel has to have AC and a fitted B/Tooth h/free kit.
