I have no idea which would be louder.  But the JLs will last longer and sound better.

sealed and ported make a huge difference also, the mofo ported vs the 2 10's sealed?? I think the 12 would win.
piRsqrd=surface area
rough numbers I come up with 113.04 cubic inches for a single 12.
157 cubic inches of surface area for 2 10's.
so there's a cone area advantage depending on actual piston size not the surround's and such.
subwoofer excursion would have an effect on this also but I would say 10's ported you won't be sorry.
some people say 10's hit higher and harder than 12's... I've told a few people I have 10's in the trunk, then open up to show 2 15's!! they sound great to me and to people that are oblivious.

JL is also one of my favorite's other than the 1000 watt max they have .... they need to make some bigger amps!! hehe :)

if you have the power acoustik ovn-1 2000??? its 1200 at 1 ohm 900 at 2 ohm. I'm pretty dub3's are 300 rms a piece. I just put a 1000/1 into my brother's dodge with 2 dub3's sealed box's slightly different sizes, and you can't crank that amp more than a little over half way before they start to calf out. (calf-out bad image haha) either way 900 would be enough for sure. I could be wrong though.
