i still use XK01's in D2D on these vehicles and they work fine.....   second choice would be an Idata ADS-AL-DL.... but they have been iffy with their GM firmwares lately.... more trouble than they are worth IMHO

Thank you all for your answers.
Is there a favorite spot under the dash to secure the brain?
Thanks again.

under the sierra, you will have tons of room to hide the brain high up in the dash.

as long as you can conceal the brain and make it look untouched or factory, thats best.

The DLPKGM is a very nice piece. It does the door locks, bypass, tach output... Those trucks are an installer's dream. I usually put the brain behind the headlight switch, a/c vent assembly. Once you have the dash off the whole thing snaps out and you will have plenty of room. Another thing don't permanently remove the metal knee bolster bolted under the steering column. Take it down, do your connections, put it back. It is there for a reason. PM me if you need any help

Everything is ordered, just have to wait til the package gets dropped off. I just need to get a couple rolls of tape, and some solder.
If I have any questions, I will be sure to ask.

Oh ya, I need to pick up a relay. What brand do you suggest?

any standard automotive relay 30/40 amps will do. if you purchse the harness as well, it will make everything easier. if you pay more than 10bucks, your getting ripped off.

Have the alarm and bypass in my hands.
Do you suggest cutting the wires off of the harnesses that I dont use, or just bundle them up and leave them alone?

personally i would short them up some and tape them off to reduce bulk.
or not plug in unused harness
leave enough wire so you can add later if you want.

Tomorrow is the install day. I have the hood pin, and sired mounted already. Is the whole dash cover easily removed? I see several 7mm bolts on the drivers side, what is securing the dash cover on the passenger side? Im still trying to find a suitable place for the brain. No room behind the gauges, radio, glove box, or drivers side kick panel.
I could mount it just above the obd2 connector, but there has to be a better spot than that, right?
Thanks!
