Ive been thinking about getting an eq or going active with my front stage.I currently run 6.5" dayton rs 150's 600-4000hz ,jl audio ct050 tweeters 4000hz-25000khz and peerless sls mids 70-600hz/lp. They currently are ran passive and they sound good ,I want them to sound better so would going active or adding an eq be more beneficial to achieve maximum sound quality? thanks in advance

They do totally different things, and you can't say that one will do better than the other.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Do you have 2 extra amplifier channels available?  If not, you can not use the crossover.

a good eq is few and far between. i love my old kenwood 9 band if you can find one. its the only eq i found with sliders instead of knobs. look into a company named cache, they make a decent eq
