Hello, everyone who knows electronics better than me.
I am attempting to install a viper 211 hv into a 1998 civic with power locks (and having no success).
What I think I know:
That this is a negative 3 wire system.
Wiring Info about this system found here:
https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/alarmdetail/1051.html
And This is the wiring for the Viper side (from the install manual):
RED / WHITE (-) OUTPUT OF CHANNEL 2
BROWN / BLACK UNLOCK #87A NORMALLY CLOSED
ORANGE (-) 500 mA GROUND-WHEN-ARMED OUTPUT
YELLOW (+) SWITCHED IGNITION INPUT (ACCESSORY)
WHITE/ BLUE (-) 200 mA CHANNEL 3 VALIDITY OUTPUT
LT.GREEN/ BLACK FACTORY ALARM DISARM
BROWN (-) HORN HONK OUTPUT
BLACK (-) CHASSIS GROUND INPUT
WHITE (+/-) PARKING LIGHT FLASH OUTPUT
VIOLET UNLOCK #87 NORMALLY OPEN (INPUT)
BLUE/BLACK UNLOCK #30 COMMON (OUTPUT)
VIOLET/BLACK LOCK #87 NORMALLY OPEN (INPUT)
WHITE/ BLACK LOCK #87 NORMALLY CLOSED
GREEN/ BLACK LOCK #30 COMMON OUTPUT
BLACK/ WHITE OUTPUT OF DOMELIGHT SUPERVISION RELAY #30
BLACK/ WHITE-1 INPUT OF DOMELIGHT SUPERVISION RELAY #87
BLUE (-) 200 mA SECOND UNLOCK OUTPUT
RED (+) 12V CONSTANT POWER INPUT
Sorry about the all caps, I copied from the install manual.
So, finally, here's the question. I have these wires hooked as follows:
Red (Viper) to 12+
Black (Viper) to -
GREEN/ Black (Viper) to GREEN / WHITE (Civic)
Blue/Black (Viper) to GREEN/ Orange (Civic)
And I've Heard that the Purple and PURPLE / Black (Viper) should be grounded as well, since this is a negative system.
And when hooked up as above, the Viper will not lock or unlock the system at all. Locks Still work from the drivers switch.
What am I missing?

Nothing, have you verified with a multimeter, that you have the right wires for lock and unlock? Have you verified with a multimeter you have12 volts and a good ground? Does the system click or anything?

yes, connect both the Purple and PURPLE / Black (Viper) to ground.

Ok, I'm pretty sure it was a bad ground...and I feel stupid. I guess I shouldn't work on electronics late at night...
Thanks for all the help guys! - Matt
