Your intepretation of connecting the pink/white to the 2nd ignition is correct!

Polarity feed here is just what it means, depending on the polarity desired to be sent out, it's the polarity you will have to feed in! Normally when using the flex relay it's for ignition switch isolation, so the key side wire will connect to the polarity feed or the pink/black!

Thanks t&t tech.  Explanation of the flex relay and ignition isolation makes sense and confirms what the manual seems to explain.  However, I don't see that it would NOT work for the purposes I intend.  Do you agree?  I will just leave the 87a terminal on the flex relay empty.
