i have a 97 honda civic ex at. i have a nitro bmw alarm installed but i wanted to add trunk feature i am wondering if this is possible. my trunk doesnt have a pop button for the trunk it has something that you pull. so do i need to install something else any advice would be appreciated.

Exactly what trunk feature do you want to install?  A trigger wire to set the alarm off, as stated in the subject.  Or a trunk release solenoid, as asked about in your question?

you will need a trunk pop solenoid OR go to your local junk yard and look for a similar model (EX, or higher) and take the trunk release kit from that.

the EX or higher models with power locks, windows also had electronic trunk release.

Time and effort wise, you'd be better off going Ted's route. Mounting an aftermarket trunk solenoid from scratch is a right PITA as regards positioning etc.
