I have a Polar Start 2704-2 model. It is about 10 years old.  My doors no longer automatically lock when I step on the brakes or unlock when I shut of the ignition.

If I start the truck with the remote it will keep running even after I have turned the key to on and step on the brake and remove the key.

I am guessing I have disabled the ignition lock somehow. How do I reprogram it?

I opened the hood to look at  the pinswitch only to find that it has been disconnected. I reconnected it but nothing changed. Does not seem to matter if it is connected or not...  I do have a toggle switch under the dash next to the unit that I use to turn it off with when I bring it to the shop.......

Note: Every function works using the remote. It  just does not lock and unlock the doors on it's own......

Checked it. Not the problem. Any other thoughts? It is installed on a 2000 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab. Keyless entry.....

if the truck is still running after you put the key in and hit the brake then remove the key there is a issue with the brake sense from remote start. the remote start does not see that you pressed the brake to override it. when you remote start your truck when you hit the brake does the truck shut-off?

Where did you "check" for the brake connection. You should be using a DMM and probe the connector where the brake wire comes out of on the CPU. DO NOT probe at the connection at the brake wire to the truck. If it tests good at the connector at the CPU, then you have an internal issue with the CPU and will require a internal repair or replacement of the CPU.

I am thinking that this feature has been deactivated.

  From the manual:

POLARSTART

ps-2704-2

IGNITION LOCK

Programming the Polarstart can turn ON this feature. If this feature has been

activated, the Polarstart will automatically lock the doors when the key is

turned to the ON position and the brakes are pressed.

When the Ignition key is turned to the off position, the doors will

automatically unlock.
