i have a pair of orion hps that handle 500rms each running on a power acoustik lt-980.2.   the amp pushes 560 rms at 4 ohms bridged.  i was on my way home from work and it was working fine. ive had it hooked up for over a year and its been working fine.  i took my back seat completely out as soon as i got home from work and wanted to see what it sounded like without a back seat in and it was goin into protect mode on and off every 1-2 seconds.   can someone please help me?
i am an idiot

Your amp probably has one or more shorted output transistors.  If you have a digital meter and some soldering skills, I can probably help you to get it working.
