Hey guys I recently purchased two DDM hid kits one for my 08 Tundra and one for my girlfriends 06 mustang. I installed the ones for my truck and they worked perfectly however when I installed the ones on the mustang they only work when the car is off. When I turn the car on the hids do not work. So I asked around and someone told me to wire the lights to the high beam wire because some hid kits require more power to run them so I did and they work fine when the car is on and the high beams are selected. I am just curious if this is ok or if there is another way I should be doing it. As of right now the lights work fine but I always have to have the light lever on high beam. Is this dangerous?

I think someone is having a bit of fun...
... or someone knows little about light power distribution....
... or someone knows more than me in this instance.
It sounds like you did NOT select the low beam circuit on your first install.
Or the low beam may be ground switching or something....
Unless your low beams were on when the stang was off just like the HIDs?

Im not saying I know a whole lot in this area as it is not my area of expertise Im just asking for help. In the first install I did use the low beam wire because when I would turn the lights on with the car off it worked but only when the car was off. Im just trying to figure out why it does not work on the low beam side when the car is on.

For that I'd need the wiring diagram (of the vehicle).
