I happen to use Audiovox.
In my case, the AS-9076 would work off the factory remotes, or the Prestige APS901 or Pursuit PRO9056 have a single-button remote.
However, the thing with the Audiovox, is you'll have to make your decision and then stick with it----use the factory remotes, or carry aftermarket?
The Avital 4113 would be a great choice for you, as the others have said.
You could install the 4113 in the normal way, but also connect its "activation input" to the "doorlock motor" wire in your car, and program the Avital for three pulses.
That way, the Altima's factory remote will activate the remote starter if you press "Lock" three times on the OEM remote, but you'll still have the ability to carry the Avital's long-range remote if/when you need to.
Even though you're thinking you don't need extended range, the 4113 costs only a few dollars more than the DEI unit that comes with no remotes, and the only extra labor is sticking its antenna on your windshield.
That way, if/when someday you discover that the OEM remote doesn't have enough range, it's just a matter of taking the 4113's remote out of your kitchen drawer and hang it on your keychain.
