I have a 05 Sierra. About 75% of the time when I get out the radio will not shut off anymore. Also when entering the dome light will not come on. I'm thinking the issue is in the switch that is made in the door latch. Can you buy this switch separate? And does anyone know a part number or have any suggestions?

it sounds like the pin switch may be on its way out.
you can get a replacement at the dealer.

I don't believe these trucks have a pin switch.I believe they are made into the door latch on the internals of the door. That's where my problem lies

Im not sure with chevy. But I know alot of fords use the door switches in the latch but they are replaceable.    Have you pulled the panel to take a look at the latch and switch ?

you are right they are in the latch assembly
everything i can find about them so far is that they are part of the latch but i cannot confirm that
you will need to pull the door panel as chev has suggested

The doorpin is part of the door lock/latch mechanism. Depending on your vehicle options, the circuit is between the driver's door module and the switch on a upscale truck or between the switch and the BCM for a base truck. Pull the door panel and see where the 2 wires go from the door latch. They should be a gray/black and a black. If you have a base truck, it could be a simple matter of a broken wire in the rubber boot between the door and body.
