hey everyone, i could sure use some help in this one...
i just installed a whole new system in my del sol.
and now the left speakers are acting up (mostly the rear one). They make this kinda sizzling static noise, even when fader is turned to the front. there's no real pattern to it, except for one certain noise, that both rear speakers make when the bass hits in the trunk.
in case it helps the set up is as follows:
Alpine 7894 HU
JL VR650 components in the doors
Boston NX 6" in the rear
jbl bp600 amp
alpine type r 10" sub
sorry for the lengthy post, but i hate leaving out details. i appreciate any help you guys can offer.

Check to make sure that your speakers are not grounding out. Check your speaker terminals to make sure that it is not touching the metal on the car. Make sure that the wires from the terminals are not touching the other side. Check your wires and make sure that they are not getting pinched anywhere.

Also check your RCA wires for any breaks or ground out points.

well, the rca's are fine, i mean, the sub is the only thing running off the amp. and it's got no noise problems.
as far as ground outs/pinches go, i'll have to trace the wires back to the head unit. the noises didn't start until i added the rear speakers. (which this model year didn't come with.) so i'm beginning to wonder if those wires are the culprits.
also, the noise seems to occur even when the music is turned all the way down.
thanks for the advice...

you have a grounded speaker wire some where maybe a screw went thru it or some thing. try a different speaker 1st just to make sure you don't have a bad speaker. if the problem is still there its your wires.

i beginning to think that the left rear channel is messed up on the head unit, since i keep getting "noise" out of whatever speaker is hooked up to it, whether using the factory wires or not. how's that for a run-on sentence? :P
anyway, anyone know how well alpine takes warranty claims?
