Do I need a mounting kit or can I just mount it to the original mount with the cubby hole? And does anyone know how to get the dash apart on one of these to get to the radio?

according to scosche website yes you need a mounting kit, but there are more than just that company for mounting kits.

metra lists the 99-7898 88and up multi honda kit. There are instructions as well to disassemble the dash to get the old radio out and reassebly instructions for the new radio.
