I have an '05 Chevy Tahoe that has Onstar.  This vehicle has steering wheel controls with a non Bose, non amplified system.  I want to install an in-dash dvd player but am having trouble finding the correct wiring harness.  The Onstar is not activated and I don't need it to work.  I was told by an installer at a car audio shop to use the LAN-01 but there seems to be several kinds.  The Lan-01's I'm finding are for '07-08 models or are for Bose systems.  Some are made for systems without Onstar which I think wouldn't be a problem if it worked as I don't us Onstar anyway.  I'm soo confused.  Any help would be appreciated.  Additionally I've looked at several in-dash dvd players that claim to have steering wheel control.  You are suppossed to be able to hook up the key wires 1 and 2 that come from the rear of these units to I guess your steering control button wires.  Any input or insight on this would definately be appreciated.

Alex.

Harness part # GWH-416 from American International.
This will plug into the factory harness.
NOTE: there is NO +12volt switch on this harness, you need to run this separately.
Second,
The Factory door chime is built into the factory radio if you want to retain this function you'll need a module.
Third,
The factory steering controls don't wire directly into the aftermarket unit. You will need a special harness and some wiring of the steering column if you want this function. Make sure the manufacturer of the stereo you want to install has this part before you buy it. Pioneer, alpine, clarion, kenwood will have it for sure.
Lemme know what model your indash is so I can find some model # for you.
