I want to add auto headlights to my 2008 dodge caliber. ive been trying for a while! does any1 know the resistance that needs to be applied and where it needs to be applied to get them to turn on.

I don't think it is resistive.
I'm almost positive that it is data controlled.
In which case you will need to tap into the power side of the lights.

i Did that, it worked, however it didnt turn on the dashlights. it is definetly a data circuit using resistance to trigger the lights,i just dont know the correct resistance and/or where to apply it,  or how to apply it (ex:pulsed or constant)

Have you tried the WHITE/ Purple wire in the Drivers Kick Panel in harness going to the rear of car?  Should test with a DMM as a (+).   Not sure if that will turn on the dash panel lights also.
Soldering is fun!
