a top notch sql system

Its been awhile since i install a stereo in car, i brought out all my old school equipment out of the closet, many amps to choose from orion amps, ppi, us amps etc.. will be using 4 sets of mids, 4 tweeters, sep. crossover. sep. eq. possible 2 10" bass mekanik subs, i pretty much have everything that i need except a new double din touch screen( in the process of looking for one, any suggestions? i know that many ppl use to install tweeter and mids directly to 4 ch. amps, but if i remember i use to install like 1 ohm caps in line to make the tweeters sound super crisp highs without the harsh freq. does anyone suggest if those were it? for mids to block out bass and of course i will be installing them in a 2002 honda odyssey exl minivan, with big 3 wires, and the stereo will have all 2guage wires for positive and ground I want to complish a super sql sounds, with real nice heavy tight bass. anyone suggest any specific way to wire any of the components of advice? thanks..

My suggestion to you would be to make the system as simple as possible so you don't have to spend weeks tuning all the speakers. The less speakers you have the less tuning you have to worry about. The front stage of your vehicle is the most important and then the sub frequencies and then the rear fill. I never put too much emphasis on rear fill because I normally have the rears set 35 % less than the front stage. Concentrate more on the front stage and have the system set up so you don't get "trunk bass" and as far as a HU, Clarion has some great DDIN units with alot of features for little $$.Jeff

I very much agree with Jeff's statement, and will add that if you really want a top-notch system, one great set of stereo main speakers will always out-perform 4-sets of any other speakers.  Spend your money on a good main set.  "Top notch" and "4 sets of mids, 4 tweeters" are phrases rarely used accurately in the same sentence.Support the12volt.com
