Here's the box I designed, 2.2 cubic ft tuned to 33hz. I'm putting a 12" Type R in it and pumping 500-750 rms through it. This should be pretty good, shouldn't it? This is my first sub and I'm just looking for some clarification.

Definitely! Nice choice on the sub. Over two cubic feet should be plenty for a single 12" Type R. I'm sure it will sound great with 500+ rms going to it, that sub can definitely take it. Looks good all around.

ported is a good choice for that sub, but make sure the port isnt too small.  the smaller it is the higher the port velocity and you can get port noise.
