Hi there fellas,

I searched for this issue and honestly could not find an answer.

My cheap setup:

1 MTX terminator 10" sub 150 rms

1 MTX TA2301 Class D Mono 150w 4ohms, 300w 2ohms

1 single sealed sub box under rear seat like this one http://www.audiovideo4me.com/v/vspfiles/photos/Single12Ram-2T.jpg

I was not aware of mono meaning one, so I wired it one + and its corresponding -, but the sub sounded like crap, not enough bass. Played with the tunning of the amp, nothing. Some songs where good and some I had to lower bass, then others sucked. All from radio stations.

Kept my HU settings at 80hz, 0db, phase normal. Amp 65hz (I think, cant tell from the dial), bass boost half way, gain half way.

Then I wired the sub on the amp kinda like bridged (I think you cant bridge a mono, right?) extreme left + to extreme right -, and the sub sounded better. Same settings.

My question is, how can I get more bass, more boom. I placed wood between the seat and the box to let the sub push better, let it breath. Should I buy a bigger sub? more watts? or less watts?

My brother in law has a Ford F-150 with a down firing box and sounds 3 times better than mine and he has a extended cab. His is a 100 watt sub with a 150w amp. He also has a RF 100w amp with a 120w RF 12" single box in his Honda Accord and that rattles the window of my house. WHAT THE HELL????? I cant do that with my set up.

What am I missing?

I believe this is the correct wiring for your sub and amp.
Also, try playing a CD or two. I've never really gotten clear sounding bass from radio stations. I recommend playing CD's that were purchased in a store over CD's with a bunch of downloaded music on them. Normally better quality of sound!

you are not getting the most out of the amp.  if you get a daul 4 ohm sub you can double the power.
