2003 Dodge Ram Cummins Diesel Manual Transmission.

DEI 561R RS.

The instructions say to find the starter wire and cut it.  Ok, did that, now what do I do with the key side?  I understand I need to hook up the purple wire from the RS to the truck side, see issue with that below....

Everything is working on the RS unit EXCEPT for the most improtant part, the starter.  I am not getting power out of the purple wire to engage the starter.  I am getting light flash, gauge lights, fuel pump.... just not getting power from the box (purple wire).

I have searched and searched for over 2 hours and can not find info that addresses this issue.  I have done the trouble shooting and checked all connections.  All connections are soldered as well.

Since the yellow wire is cut, I can not start the truck with the key, I can connect the wire back and starts just fine.  I have also bypassed the clutch switch and verified the truck will start without pushing in the clutch.  I have tested the toggle install and the RS will not activate  with it off.

I am at a loss and need to get this finished up.

Anybody got any ideas?

if i understand this right, sounds like no power coming from purple (starter wire) wire of the rs unit? i would have to guess a bad unit, if all connections are good and well. How is your 12volt connection and ground? try jumping 12 volts strait to the starter side of starter wire and see if that works

Are both the fuses good?   And you dont need to cut the starter wire, except if you want to do dummy bump (anti grind).

Got it working.

The issue was the 2004 wiring diagram I was going off of.  Secured a 2003 from Dodge and poof, got power where it needs to be.

Took the box out for now so that I can get the relay cirucuits built for the power from the RS to the truck as well on figuring one out for the clutch switch.

Also, as soon as I get everything up and running again, I'll be posting up an install proc.
