Update : Installed the 5901v2 along with my smart start module & it works great .

No more headaches & my blood pressure has returned to normal ... viper 5901 headaches - Page 2 - Last Post -- posted image.

wow... strange... i have installed dozens of the earlier 5901's and don't think i've ever had one come back.... in fact i have one of the very first ones in my Lexus and it still works great, no issues at all......

I just got my viper 5901. How can I tell whether I have gen1 or gen2 unit?
