I just completed the installation of a DEI 516L Voice Module with a DEI 5902 Alarm. Everything went very smothly but the audio quality is very poor. The audio is very "pinched" through the stock speaker supplied with the module. Has anyone experimented with a different speaker and/or amplifier?

Thanks,

Jim_Z

I have.  With both, and they all sounded different, and cool.  Larger horns, hi-level and lo-level into amps even into a 15".     The factory speaker does sound kinda cheezy IMO.  But I've never had one sound REALLY bad, or muted.

Try another speaker and see how it sounds.  I'd recommend experimenting.

Try and mount the speaker facing down pref. towards the lower wheel arch so that the sound escapes underneath.

I will be experimenting!  I have mounted the speaker on the firewall facing forward/down. I would appreciate any recommendations for weather resistant speakers better than POS that comes with the voice module.
