I'v got a 2000 Chrysler Neon and i wanted to install a remote start unit thati just picked up.  the install instructions say to find the tach wire which is located by the distributor.  i used my multi meter looking for a wire that carried 1-5 volts ac while the car was in idle, but did not find anything.  i was wondering if any body knows where i might find this wire and what color it might be.

There is one way to get a tach signal. Its located at the injector, either injector 1-2 (green /orange)or find a grey with black located at the P.C.M. in the engine compartment.

P.S. I work at Chrysler and install alarms and remote start systems.Which one R U installing?

Good Luck

You can find it at the coil, the wire is grey with black trace...
Don't share too many install secrets with your customers, pretty soon they won't need you!!!!!
