remote starter trunk release

Hi everyone I am in the process of installing car remote starter and trunk release pulse from remote is negative, It is needed to reverse the polarity for solenoid to actuate but it necessary to cut the wire to power relay coil from BCM and from relay to solenoid ,I have a question that since wire from BCM to trunk solenoid is opened then does it mean that push button switch for trunk will not be working anymore and only remote and trunk key. Thanks a lot

Not if you wire it as such:- Trunk release output from alarm to 85, Cut wire from BCM to actuator (solenoid) BCM to 87a, Other cut side to 30, Constant 12Volt+, fused at 15amps to 86 and 87. Place a 1N4004 diode across 85 and 86, band side to 86. This will retain your original switch function. Have you checked your switch, if it's a 2 wire and the output is neg, you could connect your alarm's trunk output directly to the output side of the switch though again I advise that diode in-line from your alarm, band towards alarm.

HI The tach signal for cavalier 2005 is white or orange.Does it mean that any wire can be used for remote starer also to check the ac voltage using multimeter then both wires are connected to probes Thanks

Check EITHER wire by using your red probe on the wire, black to ground.

HI howieII I have another question in regards to remote starter. I have used both 30A power constant 12v+ from remote to the wire at ignition harness is this acceptable or I have to power the remote direct from battery? Thanks a lot mike31

Battery, main fuse box constant 12V+ input or ignition wiring 12v+ constant are all acceptable, it depends on your positioning etc* Check bulldog, here etc, make sure the ignition wire hasn't got something silly like a 10amp loading.

HI I have finally installed PROSTART CT-3310 IN MY Cavalier 2005 using PLJX for bypass2. Car start for a second or two then shuts off plus two more attempts so it starts 3 times per once remote transmitter. I changed the white wire to orange for tach signal and I am still having the same problem. Any idea thanks
