I'm running 3 Fogate HX2 DVC 4ohms with a 2.67 ohm final load. I've ran about 3 Hifonics Brutus 2600D & 2500D amps and the amps keep on felling! 1st amp would work than go bad after 2 months, pwr led comes on but no sound. 2nd one would work for 1 month than go bad, but led would still come on. 3rd amp they upgraded me to the latest one and it would work for 3wks than baddd! This time it happen when was using the stereo for about 10 mins, stereo at normal volume. had smoke coming out. pwr led on, Hifonics logo still lighting up. Everytime i replace amps, i would test to see if the subs are ok and it was. Even used a 5 amps fusing in between a 24V dewalt cordless battery to see if it was shorting ... was good. But the funny thing was I would use a 97' model fosgate 225.2 as a temporary amp while they warranty the other amps and it would hit just as good. the Hifonics amps were rated @ 2600, 2600 and 2500 watts respectively and the fosgate was rated @ 300 but i would notice the bass was louder, tighter and less distorted, also the fosgate is rated 4 ohm stable but would out last all these other 1 ohm would be stable amps. The fosgate was used for 6 months on & off with no problems. Any help would be great. I wouldn't want to get another Hifonics amps if other people are having same problems.

Notice the Maxxsonics embossed bottom cover.  Notice it has nothing like that on the Rockford amp?   A clue may lie within.

Hifonics has gone to crap. All these new Hifonics wear pink underwear.

Its called "paper power".
Its a manufacturer's attempt at getting you to spend your hard earned money on sub-par products with low quality products.
Which is why a FOSGATE T500.1 is more expensive than a Performance teknique 2000watts.
