I was wondering if it's possible to wire the starter cut relay to the fuel pump instead of the starter. This would provide more security since my car is a manual transmission. How would I wire it up? Should I go with Normaly Open or Normal Closed configuration?
I know it's a little risky to wire up the fuel pump to and alarm...should something fail. But I'm OK with the risk vs added security.
Thanks
Marc

Hey Marc, hope this helps:

N.O starter kill relay relies on a ground from the alarm when disarmed and +12 volts from the ignition to enable the driver to start the vehicle. * Note: most alarms with this feature will not provide this grounded output when power ,12 volts (+), to the alarm is not present, even if the alarm is grounded. If the alarm fails for some reason or it is ripped out, then you're car isn't going to start.

PIN  85    from alarm ground out when disarmed

PIN  86    to true ignition + 12volts
PIN  87    to key side of starter switch
PIN  87a  n/a
PIN 30     to motor side of starter switch

N.C starter kill relay, breaks continuity of the lead from the ignition switch to the starter motor. When the alarm is armed and the ignition is turned on, relay contacts disengage. This is the most commonly used application for disabling the starter. .If the alarm fails for some reason or it is ripped out, then you're car can still start.

If I have an idea, and you have an idea and we share ideas, then we each have two Ideas, together we have four.
