Anyone have any experience or solutions for adding aftermarket dual headrest DVD / monitors to a 2010 Ford Expedition that has a factory overhead video system?  Headrests have already been ordered and dealership didn't warn us of the overhead.

PROBLEM IS: conflict between factory overhead headphone IR, which uses same 2 frequencies / channels ("A" frequency for video and "B" frequency for radio) as dual headrest system.  Anyone know how to shutoff IR on factory system that's (1) not permanent (can be turned back on easily) and (2) not void any warranties?  Or, ideas on covering factory IRs that would be effective and attractive...the obvious ones like electrical tape have already been considered?  Any ideas appreciated.

You will have to unmount the factory unit.  Find the LED array in the frontof the unit.  On the circuit board that the LEDs are mointed to, you will need to find the trace that goes to the first LED on iach channel.  You need to cut the trace and solder a wire to each end of the cut.  Run both wires of the A channel to one pole of a DPST swotch.  Run the wires of channel B to the other pole of the switch.  The LEDs are arranged as follows.  A B A B A B A B A B.  They will all share a ground.  I have never had any trouble at all in identifying the trace leading up to each channel.

When we have this issue we simply cover ir's with tape, but do it inside the housing so the tape doesn't show. This voids no warranty abd is reversable, plus it's undetectable....
