i have a 1994 sentra b13 and since i installed my new preamp a clarion eqs746 i hearing a hiss when all the volume is down or while the track is changing. is this normal

did u run the power wires to the amp and the RCAs on the same side

its probably the eq. i've installed a few of those clarions and most of them made some sort of noise.

Turn the gain control of your amp(s) all the way down.  Do you still hear the noise?
