wiring in parallel and how is this setup?

Hello all, I am going to help my cousin with an install for his 2008 infiniti g35 sedan with a bose system that includes a 10in subwoofer in the back. 1. I was told that the best way to receive a signal is to tap into the preexisting subwoofer and install a line out converter to receive RCA outputs for the amp... is this correct? where would I find a wiring schematic? aside from that we were trying to be on the cheaper side for a system that has moderate power. we chose a dual voice coil 4 ohm alpine type x, 12 inch and an alpine mrp-m1000 amp that supplies 1000 watts RMS at 2 ohms and 600 at 4. We want it to run at 2ohms to give more power so we plan on wiring it in parallel like this: 2. will this achieve an overall 2ohm load to give the subwoofer the 1000watts RMS? 3. is this the best bang for your buck for a 12inch woofer or can you suggest an alternative that is in a similar price range (its ~$240 sub, ~$250 amp, still looking for a box) 4. what kind of box would we need for this sub, ported or sealed to achieve the best medium between sq and spl. I know there is some program where you plug in numbers but I am highly unsure about how to use it. thank you greatly in advance for your time!

You've got the setup exactly right. How much are you paying for the M1000 amp? I know it MSRPs for around 400.

As for the box, I'd REALLY spend a little extra and get a box made for the sub using the proper air volumes. It will mean more to your entire setup. A great sub can sound crappy in the wrong box... but a crappy sub can sound great in the right box (to an extent).

And I would go with a ported box, but that's just me. It'll give you access to those lower notes. It all depends on the type of music you listen to and what your personal tastes are. The Type Xs sound good in either box though as long as your parameters are right.MECP Basic Installation Tech

No sir... you cannot just cut a hole in it to make it ported. The port needs to be tuned. Make sure that you are fitting your sub in a box that is within the parameters of the sub. The first box you posted seems to be a little too big if its a sealed box.
