hi. I'm running 6 1/2" components up front, with kenwood 6 by 9's in the back....have a clarion pro audio drz7575z head unit, and a kicker 300.4 amp. this set up sounds great to me.... after I installed the amp, I checked the impedence on the 6 by 9's and it went down to 3.5 ohms.... I am wondering if the amp is to big for my speakers, just recently made a mdf, oval box, to cap the 6 by 9's. and the bass response is tight now, much better sound.......its distortion free, so I shouldn't have an excessive power problem...I'm thinking of putting two 10" comp vr's in off a kicker kx 400.2 or 300.2 ran in stereo not mono.....does that seem like a good match, or recommend something else???????thnx

a nice choice by the comp vr's. I sell them at the shop that i'm working at and they are AWESOME subs. If you want an awesome sub amp (although it's pretty big but great for subs) get a kicker 600.1. It's a Class D amp and it's made specifically for subs. I doubt that the amp is too big for your speakers, especially if you've boxed them, (that would at least help them from reaching X-Max). Hey, if it sounds good, keep it. \

I don't know bout the impedance thing though. That's weird. My first guess was that maybe the VC was getting worn out from playing and it dropped a little. (I'm taking that it's 4 ohm)...but i've seen speakers that are a billion years old and they still come in at least a couple of tenths to their rating.
