I have a viper 790xv alarm and remote start. I went to remote start my truck one cold day and I guess my battery was low and my truck was just clicking. I had to press the brake to get it to stop. After that my remote was not connecting to my alarm in the truck. All I get is the beeps that it does when the remote is out of range. I’ve heard two different ways to reprogram it back to the alarm. Pushing and holding the valet button after 8 times and another at 2 times and then pressing the lock/arm button or a combo or lock and unlock. When I do that I still get the out of range beeps. Is there any other way to get it to reconnect or is my remote done and I need to buy a new one. If I have to buy one can I get a Clifford remote to use or does it have to be viper? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

I t can be Clifford or viper, does'nt matter.

Turn ignition on, press and release the button 8 times, press and hold.  Then press Lock on the transmitter.

I would try powering the system down first, then power it up and try programming.

Sorry I forgot to mention I did that with the ignition on and the door open. How do I power the system down? I tried leaving the battery out of the remote for awhile too to see if that might help.

Unplug the main plug at the control module for a few seconds.   I've seen the antennas lock up also.  But powering the control module down is the same, and easier then trying to unplug the antenna.

That worked thanks a lot. It didn’t reboot at 8 presses though it was the 2 presses. When I did 8 it didn’t want to and was giving a little 5 next to the Tx and Rx symbols
