99 silverado passlock

Ok, first off if i'm correct if the 99 silverado has passlock it would show up in the info window on the left side of the cluster correct. we are installing an autopage rs on 99 silverado 4.8 engine, we taped pin 10 for tach unit learned it but when we remote start it tries and then dies. the led light tells us 3 flashes which is tach or voltage. if we set the key in the ignition does the same thing so to our knowledge there is no passlock 2 on it, right. all 98-up GM trucks have Passlock II .... leaving the key in the IGN will tell you nothing with a PL system..... R code is generated during crank....Kevin Gerry

ok one question, we can start with key, and while running engage the remote start turn key off and it stays running, wouldn't it shut off if it had passlock 2,,i'm just trying to find out for sure"Big" Ed Bausman

even the bare bones silverado with rubber floor no locks etc have it

now one other thing what is the voltage threshold of most remote starts, such as the lowest voltage cause this truck drops to 9.7 when cranking. Just covering all my bases' i do appreciate the help everyone

you definitely need a bypass. a pljx or something similar. when using the stop and go feature the car is already running so it will stay running. passlock or transponder systems only come into play when starting the vehicle. once its running it becomes irrelevant.

are you using voltage sensing? you shouldnt have an issue with the 9.7V. if you do there should be a programming feature or jumper somewhere on the brain to adjust the threshold. if you still have issues you may need to run a tach wire

it has passlock don't fight it. if you just want to be cheap and not use a bypass use your brain, a meter, resistors, and 2 relays and make it happen.A DMM is a beautiful thing.
