dynamat road noise how many layers?

i have a lot of road noise got some loud tires. i just got a  mega pack dynamat  and i am wondering is one layer good? i heard that second layer doeesnt help. also on the door panels is it nessary do cover it all like no wholes viziable was thinking about cuting the hholes so in the futeure i can work in the panel is that okay was thinking about doing inside the panel also for double the protechion is tht fine?have a 03 silverado extanda

What kind of Dynamat did you buy? If it is Dynamat Xtreme....1 layer is fine. It wouldnt hurt to sound deaden the door panels. You can cover all unnecessary holes if you want and that will help enclose the door speakers a little better too.

yes i would cover all the holes i am ju8st working about when i have to go  into the door panels to fix something than that means i have to take off my  dynamt and buy some more..
