possible a bad viper 5901

Car: 2007 Ford Edge Alarm: Viper 5901 Problem: Unit doesn't respond to anything. Also pressing the Valet button or remotes do not do anything and LED doesn't respond either. I'm in the process of installing the unit taking small steps and verifying things as I go. The only thing I've connected on the main harness is the power (Red), ground (Black) and parking lights (White, through a relay). When I tested it it worked fine and proceeded to install part of the remote start harness. The only wires on the remote harness I installed are Ignition 1 (pink) and Starter (Violet & Green). Now it seems that the unit has locked up and possibly failed. With everything unplugged (with or without the antenna/Valet button connected) as soon as I connect the main harness (not the remote start or accessories harness) the parking lights come on and the main unit doesn't respond to anything. On a side note when I first received the system I tried charging the remote and it wouldn't charge. After connecting the remote to three different chargers it finally started charging and will now charge on the factory charger. Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Check if you've connected your pink ignition wire to  constant 12volt source. The remote charging issue happens with me sometime, i just re-plug it in the same charger a few times an it works fine after, i dunno why.

I can disconnect the remote start harness and still have the same results.

why are you even attempting to press buttons and such with only 3 wires hooked up? A DMM is a beautiful thing.

I was testing the parking lights to make sure they flashed and then going to move on to make sure everything worked as I connected it. It makes trouble shooting easier. If something is incorrect I didn't want to continue until that problem was resolved.

you need more than 3 wires.

ign, acc, ground, constant 12v, door trigger,parking lights just to program remotes,
