I have a few questions maybe you guys can answer for me. I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota. I want to install a remote start. I have the avitial 4103.
1. the Direct wire 2.0 printout say my locks are a negative trigger. 820ohm resistor for lock and 330 ohm for unlock. also it says MUST use relays.. can some one draw me a diagram for the relays? can some one draw me a diagram for the relays? Also does it matter what watt the resistors are?? 1/4, 1/2, 1/8w??
2. Parking lights. The Directwire sheet says I have 2 wires for the parking lights. how to I hook thes up?and How do I know if the light system draws more than 10amps??( I'm guessing I can figure this out by checking the fuse.)

For the door locks, here is a diagram from Bulldog Security.  The top diagram is correct for a remote start with (-) lock outputs.  The lock motor wire is not necessary.

For the Parking Lights both Bulldog Security and Audiovox say BLACK / YELLOW (+) at the headlight switch.

Bulldog:   PARKING LIGHTS ( + )     BLACK / YELLOW (+)       @ HEADLIGHT SWITCH

Audiovox:  Parking Lights      BLACK / YELLOW  (+)       HEADLIGHT SWITCH

Soldering is fun!

1. Lock:
Pin 86 green lock output from 4103
Pin 30 ground with 820 ohm resistor inline
Pin 85 Fused constant +12V
Pin 87 WHITE/ green wire in truck
Unlock:
Pin 86 blue unlock output from 4103
Pin 30 ground with 330 ohm resistor inline
Pin 85 Fused constant +12V
Pin 87 WHITE/ green wire in truck
If you pick up a 451M DEI door lock relay pack it will plug right into the door lock port on the brain of your system, and include all required resistors. It's a lot smaller than 2 standard relays too. They are inexpensive IMO ($7 on ebay shipped.)
2. The two wires listed for your 2002 Dakota are options you have for hooking up the parking lights, either will work. You can trigger them either with a negative (RED / yellow at CTM) or positive trigger (BLACK / YELLOW at CTM). In most new vehicles I hook up using negative trigger whenever possible, but your ignition wires supply enough to use the BLACK / YELLOW at the headlight switch...just hook your white parking light output to it and you will be fine. The included 10amp fuse is plenty to supply the parking lights.
You do not need to concern yourself with the actuator wires (motor wires). This information is useful for remote starts being activated without their own keyfob and for progressive unlocking...neither of which really apply to your particular setup using the 4103.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

any resistor watt size will work
for the park lights it a single positive wire BLACK / YELLOW at back of fuse box will work
if you want pics of this truck pm me or email me

the pics are perfect! this is gonna be a breeze.
ok. last question..
on the pdf from directed, it say my truck is a transponder vehicle. I didnt think it was. I have a black key, non-security. I thought the transponder's were with the gray "skim" key that had factory security.
