I just got a 06 F150 FX4, it had an aftermarket unit install that was crap and installed poorly. I had access to a AVIC-XD1 form a 07 edge I tried to install with the Facory wiring, all the connections seem the same and fit perfectly. It powers up, I hear the CD tray moving, the FORD logo come on the screen then....nothing operatesbut the CD load and eject.

Since that didn't work I re-installed the Original 6cd/mp3 premium system, I get the same result. Power, cd tray moves then..nothing. What could be causing this problem. Could it be a ground issue.

There are 3 connections, 24 pin, 16 pin, and 8 pin. What should I try?

If it had a "crappy" install that you removed then you can not really be sure what happened at the time of that install. You may need to do some detective work to find out what wires may or may not be compromised using a DMM

Your ACC wire is not out-putting any voltage. Check the fuses.

No ACC wire sounds good to me. The way it is acting is though it is not getting the message that it should be ON.

I checked the fuses when I installed. Turns out someone pulled a fuse and didn't put a new one in. Hard to tell at first glance. I had to check with the owners manual all the fuses and locations. Everything is working fine now.
Thanks for the help!
