First Time post.

I have a 2001 Ford Escort ZX2. 3-4 months back, my car died on me. I just recently got it running again and everthing works fine except for the radio. It use to work fine.

Its a stock radio/tape deck with a stock 6 disk CD changer in the trunk. The radio's display shows the time when its off. When I turn it on it doesn't look like it's on but you can now adjust the Bass, Fade, etc. If you press the CD button, the display will show the cd and track and start to play the cd. Press the FM/AM button and it looks like it turned off.

FYI: During the 3-4 months the battery completely died, recharged it.

well, i will reply, but you might not agree with my opinions. First, when you recharged your battery did you charge it still connected to car or did you bench charge it? i have experienced problems in the past charging batteries which are still connected to car. blown fuses, shorted out equipment. theres many possibilities there. does it still make play music, make noise, maybe display burned out. besides the factory deck is 10 years old now, i would say you got your moneys worth out of that deck. i would go after market,or check ebay you might find a good used on for cheap or some companies will repair you OEM deck, but the cost is more than going aftermarket. like i said just my opinions.
Go BIG or go Home                                    it might not be broke, but lets fix it anyway

thank you for your reply

I just jump start the car, took it  for a long drive then let it idle for a while on the drive way to charge it back up. I check both fuse boxes, all good. It will play the CDs just fine and the display is working fine. Its just not playing or displaying the radio. True I have got my $$ worth from it, just found it odd the CDs will play but not the radio.

Did you ever find out how to fix this? I am having the same issue. Car went dead yesterday at work, got the jump and now my clock is on, the tape and cd player work but nothing for the radio. My two left speakers are blown as well. Fuse didn't blow either. Usually my radio will reset when my car goes dead but not this time?
