Hey all,
I have an '11 Sonata with Navigation and Infinity Sound System. I'm looking to upgrade the sound system, and do it with as clean signal as possible, keeping the stock head unit due to the navigation.
That being said and like most "premium sound systems", my car does have an external amp. However, since the JL Audio CleanSweep has 4 inputs that all require full range signal, I'm having a little difficulty figuring out how to go about this.
I can't use any signal coming out of the Infinity amp because I'm assuming that all of the signals are crossed over in some way.
Input-wise to the Infinity amp and according to the Hyundai schematic, the amp uses a SPDIF input from the HU consisting of 3 wires: OUT +, OUT -, and GND.
Can anybody shed some light on this subject?

i must not have been thinking clearly about what you had. It happens to me sometimes. That output from the head unit is not one I have had to deal with. I think I saw a wiring harness that would replace your source unit....then to the infinity amp. I know that's not what you want, but that suggests that the input style of an aftermarket source unit would feed the infinity. SO maybe the jl can go in between? Or have you looked into a converter.I am interested in what you come up with.
