Thanks

That 2011 Explorer uses an 80 bit transponder. If you are doing the installation yourself, you would have to use a key-in-a-box bypass (losing one of the keys in the process)...or you would need to use a programmable bypass that requires not only flash-programming before installation, but also during. Once all connections are made, you start the programming process, remove the bypass and hook it to a computer, then flash-program the bypass to clone (or in Idata's terminology "KLON") the transponder information. Take a look through the installation guide for more information. You can find the guide here.

Thanks for the info on the wiring. I did the customer truck yesterday and it  went good and i use a Evo-ride . I only needed to use three wires for the hook up on the Evo-ride and the wires are on the left side of center console including the power, starter, etc. Just pull on the wires and there is more then plenty to due the job. I flash the unit to 1.3 version and there is no security light on the 2011 ford explorer by the way,so I counted up to 4 to program both of the keys and it work fine. If the truck key has SA on it ,it's a 80 bit transponder. The Fortin Evo-ride does't need to be taking out of the truck once it's been program which took me about 10 sec. or so to program. Jeff at Audio warehouse in Lodi nj has them.

Thank you for the update! They had the 80 bit Ford listed as 'preliminary' in their manual when I posted the earlier response. Great to hear that a company has a bypass that doesn't require the extra steps.
