1998 sunfire anti theft system?

When I put the car in the "on" position the anti theft light stays on solid??I've already mistakenly ..arrgh replaced the fuel pump...not knowing anything about this stupid system figured that was it...darnnit,then figured it was this instead..tried replacing ign switch to no avail,finally went and bought the bypass kit and installed and programmed it...........car will still not start and light is still on?????Any help would be great,TY

start searching for passkey 2 or passkey II related issues (confirm with your owners manual that yours is this system). there are plenty of different types of fixes for the same problem. read all you can and weigh your options. if you are lucky you will find others with the same body style as yours and get a detailed plan on fixing it once and be done with it.

it seems like 11 out of every 10 cars built with it has trouble sooner or later.
