Can anyone tell me the proper way to wire a single sub, dual 4 ohm voice coils, to be bridged on my amp? Ive looked on here in the forums, and help guides, see there is a few ways, but since I am only running 1 sub, figured id ask for the best answer, thanks..

it entirely depends whether your amp is stable to 1 ohm, 2 ohms or 4 ohms. once you know that look at the sub wiring guide at the top of the page to find the correct way for the impedance of your amp.
basically the lower the impedance the amp see's the more power it will draw.

Option 1 (parallel) = 2 ohm load
Voice coils wired in parallel
Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 2 or 1 ohm mono
dual voice coil sub -- posted image.

Option 2 (series) = 8 ohm load
Voice coils wired in series
Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 4, 2, or 1 ohm mono

Okay thanks for the help u guys.. I think I had it hooked up already as parallel, and when i turned my gain up past 25% the speaker started to clip, and anything over 50% would pop the fuse on the amp.. So Ill pull the speaker out here, and switch it to series and give it a try.. Thanks again..

The fuse on the amp pops? Is the fuse that you're using the specified rating for the amp?, i would think the amplifier would go into protecction mode first. Maybe it would be better if you informed us of the equipment you're using.

Yea I popped the fuse a couple times when I had it wired in series, once you turned the gain up, bang.. And now the speaker either clips or sounds like its blown.. I tired rewiring it in parallel, but its no where near as loud and again, as soon as you turn gain up, sounds like its clipping..

The Sub is a 10" Pioneer TS-W257D4 1000W max, dual 4Ohm Voice Coils and the amp is an Alpine V12, 500W 2/1 channel amp.. And the sub is in a ported box built to the specs the sub requires.. Any ideas??

I think you mean parallel is louder but blows fuses, and in series it's not as loud.  If your amp isn't 2 ohm mono stable (and I don't think yours is), it'll surely trip fuses, catch on fire, kick your neighbors dog, etc...

Nope, I double shecked lol, it was orginally wired in Series, thats when I was popping fuses, then switched it to parallel, not as loud now, but speaker is still clipping??

You need to set your gain properly.  Check the Hot Topics forum.
