My first post and I have to admit this site is sweet! Im having an issue with an XK01 module.
2005 Chevy Suburban, Remote Start is an Astra 4000RS 2W with an XK01
Problem I have is the locks will lock and unlock only once and the remote start will crank but will not start.
Sadly the Astra does not have a D2D plug so everything is W2W. I have the XK01 programmed to 4, the Violet to the OBII, Green & Blue to the lock/unlock on the Astra and the Brown to the Blue/Orange (ground when running out(-). Question is am I missing something? Help please.

Possibly some dumb questions, but just so we don't overlook anything...

Is the XK01 bypass module flashed with the correct firmware?  AMDL Ver 6.00 is the correct and current firmware for your Suburban.

Also, I'm sure you did it but you didn't mention connections for XK01 Pins 9 & 10, +12v power and ground.

Lastly, did the module program to the vehicle as per the install guide?  Did you set it to Type 4 ( factory default is Type1)?  Notice in Step 4 that note about GM vehicles.

Soldering is fun!

Kreg thanks for the reply.
The firmware is AMDL for GM. The power and ground are connected. I did program the module to mode 4. I may have missed the step to hold down the program button after it flashes 4 times before I started the truck. I honestly do not remember if I did or not. I will have to do that tonight after work.
If all fails I think I'm going to try and ground the Brown wire directly to the truck somewhere and see if it starts. If it does than I'm thinking a relay will have to do the trick.

Double check that connection of the brown XK01 to the blue/orange wire from the Astra.  I don't think that is what you want.  You want a status output (-) to hook up to the brown wire.  I looked thru the manual, but didn't see one right away.

But I did the same thing on my viper 5701 on my tahoe. i hooked up the brown wire to the ground when armed output wire.  It would start up, but cut off right away.  Hooked it up to a status ouput wire and it started right up and kept running.

Bndawgs what do you mean by hooking up the brown to a status output?
Here is the breakdown of wires on the Astra.
BROWN / White - Horn Output (-)
BLACK/ Gray - Tach Input (RPM Input)
Brown - Siren Output 3Amp (+)
Green - Negative Door Input (-)
Violet - Positive Door Input (+)
Yellow - +12V Ignition Input (+)
WHITE/ Black - Hood Pin Input (-)
Black - Sytem Ground (-)
BLACK/ White - Dome Light Out (-) 500ma
WHITE/ Violet - Factory Disarm Out (-) 500ma
Blue/Orange - Ground When Running Out(-) 500ma
Orange - Anti-Grind Out (-) 500ma
Gray - Trunk Release Out (-) 500ma
GREEN / WHITE - Brake Input (+)
White - Parking Light Out (+/-)
Red - +12V Input (+)
I haven't had to much time to play with this thing but I tried a couple of different things with no luck. Still no start, crank only and the Lock/Unlock only does it once which tells me my truck is getting a signal. Whats funny is after the lock/unlock works only once I manually L/U the doors and try the remote again and it works but again it only does it once. I tried doing a reset on the XK01 when you hold the program button while you insert the pin connector and doing the entire re-program to 4 but still no go. Grounding the Brown directly to the truck no go. Cranks but no start.
One last thing im going to try is to re-flash the module again with the AMDL firmaware. Ive read a lot of posts with people having similar issues with this XK01 so if this doesn't work I may be buying another bypass module. I ordered my XKloader online and should have it later this week hopefully.

Hey guys, the way that I see it, you have connected you brown wire to the right r/s wire. On some xk01 modules, I needed to disconnect the brown wire for programming. You should test the blue/orange wire and make sure that it does give you (-) while it's running. An easy way to test it is to take a relay, connect 85 to blue/orange and 86 to 12v and feel the relay to see if it clicks and stays clicked while the vehicule is running. Another way, ground the brown wire and try starting the vehicle with the r/s and see what happens.

going off of the set up of my viper 5701, there is a wire that is a remote start status wire. with my system this wire tells my xk01 that the remote start is going and to bypass the passkey system.

i didn't see one listed for your system, but i would look for a wire that gives the status of what the system is doing.

Update:
The XKLoader showed up today. Re-flashed the XK01 and it worked like a champ. As soon as I plugged it into to loader it displayed the AMDL Version 6 firmware so I couldnt tell you why it wasnt working properly.
Wired everything up and I did notice as soon as I gave it power the status light stayed lit. This hadn't happened before. When I originally bought it was sold as a Pre-Programmed unit for my truck so it flashed 4 times when I originally wired it up and gave it power that told me it had been set to mode 4, Or so I thought.
Anyways Thanks for all the replies. Oh and I picked up a brand new Viper VSS5000 locally on CL for $100 so I will be taking the Astra out this weekend. lol.
